Alex and Rob set off on their excellent JR
Osaka Loop Line bicycle adventure at 1:59 pm., on 15 November 2005, at the corner of Shin-Naniwa suji and Amidaike suji, in front of
Ashiharabashi Station. This segment will take you from Ashiharabashi Station to Taisho Station. Along the way you will cross the Nankai Line, see one of Osaka's many canals ("Osaka, the Venice of the East"), stop outside Discobeans (which was closed), learn how to operate a beer vending machine, hear the grating noises of pachinko, sample sata andagi outside Ichariba, witness total distruction just across the street, gaze upon the saintly face of Junichiro Koizumi, hear about okama hostesses downstairs from Pierot and be serenaded by the lovely music played by Osaka's pink garbage trucks!
All this before the first station on our first of eight segments! Stay tuned for more adventures...
Enjoy!
